Joy Morgan Hess
Owner/Lead Travel Consultant

Thanks for visiting us! I believe that travel helps each of us understand our world better. Seeing things outside one's own routine is a transformative experience; one that builds kindness and understanding. It also introduces us to cultures and people, which makes our world a smaller place, and makes the lives of so many in our world better! Our team agrees with this philosophy and is fantastic to work with. Take a look at their bios below and see who would be a good fit to help you plan your travel!

I'm passionate about taking time to travel regularly  - even a short road trip to a neighboring town or state. It's a priority for me to visit a new place each year, preferably somewhere out of my comfort zone, and I also make time to revisit favorite family travel traditions (Disney Parks & vacations with friends).

Some personal info about me:

  • Favorite Destinations: Mexico, Scotland, Austria, Bermuda, Alaska, Utah, Maine, Costa Rica, Azores

  • Life List (prefer this to 'Bucket List'): Switzerland, Japan, Egypt, Africa, the Baltic region

  • Upcoming personal trips: Guatemala

  • Travel style: Intrepid & exploring like a local. Mix of exploring & relaxing!

My consulting specialties are planning custom vacations, to both domestic and international locations. I especially love planning multi-generational trips, groups, adults-only getaways, and solo trips (everyone should travel alone at least once in their lives)! Though I am an international travel specialist, our country is HUGE and I enjoy helping families with domestic US vacations as well.

Helping others experience the world outside the lines is a joy and is the main reason why I chose to work in the travel industry.

Her interests are diverse and span the globe.

Tonya Yohn Woody

 Travel Consultant Assistant

Tonya was born and raised in the glorious Appalachian Mountains of southern Pennsylvania. She now lives with her family in Lancaster, South Carolina, a Charlotte, North Carolina suburb.

A classically trained singer and long-time educator, Tonya prioritizes taking in the artistic and cultural offerings wherever she visits, whether traveling in the U.S. or internationally.

Tonya enjoys the iconic, touristy hot spots as much as anyone else. However, she’s most known to adopt the “when in Rome”  philosophy and can often be found chatting with the locals to get the inside scoop on the “real” must-dos and best eats. A few favorite do-as-the-locals-do experiences include:

  • The Visionary Arts Museum (Baltimore, MD),

  • The Maine Maritime Museum (Bath, ME),

  •  Celtic Crystal (Galway, Ireland)

  • The Catawba Cultural Center (Rock Hill, SC)

  • The Side Street Café (Portland, ME)

  • Amelies French Patisserie (Charlotte, NC)

  • El Fish Fritanga (Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico)

  • The hidden gem of Daufuskie Island, SC

Tonya and her husband log many travel miles visiting their college-age sons in Virginia and Indiana, but they manage a few “just for fun” getaways, too. They are drawn to coastal cities like Annapolis, MD, Providence, RI, San Francisco, CA, and Anna Maria Island, FL.

Tonya has an extensive See-the-World Life List. A few domestic destinations include Seattle, WA, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park, and The Hamptons, Long Island, NY. Nova Scotia, Italy, and Greece are at the top of her international Life List.
